Since 1975 Bon Soir, a full service off-premises catering firm,
has been offering our clients, both corporate and private, the
best in outdoor cooking and event management. Corporate
sponsored family oriented events such as BBQ’s and picnics have
become increasingly popular over the last decade.
These morale-enhancing events are steadily replacing the holiday
party for employee appreciation and team building events. In
fact, gourmet grilling and barbecue are becoming the menus of
choice for our contemporary clients throughout the tri-state
area.
In 1997, Jeff Riley, owner of Bon Soir Caterers teamed up with
Joe Mizrahi, proprietor of the widely acclaimed Smokin’ Joe’s
True Blue Texas BBQ. Together we are proud to have offered New
York's only authentic southern barbecue to our valued clients.
The Smokin’ Grill, our full service outdoor event division was
opened in 1999 to meet the ever growing demand for the “Best in
BBQ”.
The Smokin’ Grill is a proud sponsor of Brooklyn’s nationally
recognized BBQ team, FUHGEDDABOUTIT BBQ. This team, under the
guidance of our head pit-master and
certified BBQ judge, Stephen Harkavy has placed in BBQ contests
throughout the United States. FUHGEDDABOUTIT has won awards for
BBQ in New Jersey, Washington DC, Pennsylvania and Tennessee.
Stephen is preparing to take his team on the road again in the
spring of 2008.
To further hone our “BBQing” skills members of our staff
attended a BBQ school this past March in Georgia . “The Ultimate
Cooking School ” was offered by world class pit-master Mr. James
Britt of Britt's Barbecue in Alabama . Our instructor was Myron Mixon, the World Champion of the barbecue circuit who has won
over 1500 BBQ contests throughout the United States . Myron is
the owner of Jack's Old South Bar-B-Que in Georgia . Assisting
also, was champion pit-master Buster Dunn of Boggy Pond BBQ, GA.
We had a great time in addition to receiving a wealth of tips
and information.

commissary, opened in 2002, we have a full complement of
refrigerated trucks, stainless steel grills, smokers, pig
roasters and barbecue trailers. Our
